Hello everyone, welcome to my presentation. This is Annie and today I'd like to give you guys some tips to survive a cougar attack. Without any further ado, let's start now. First, let me tell you about a disposition of the presentation. There're 3 main parts included reasons why are cougars dangerous, some tips that may help you when a cougar is facing, and things that I pack in my survival kit. Firstly, let's start with some reasons make a cougar becomes dangerous. Well, did you know, cougars don't usually attack human. But if they do, it means they're starving and your survival rate would go down because they're loosing control. The lack of food can be caused the cougars to attack human to keep themselves alive. But that's not the only reason. One more thing caused cougar attacking people is lack of awareness about what the right prey is. It usually happens with an orphaned or young cougars. They attack human as a natural instinct without knowing that human isn't dangerous. Next, let's talk about some survival tips. What if a cougar starting approaching you? What would you do? I think the answer could be screaming and running away. But you mustn't do that! It can stimulate them and you will be attacked! Instead stand firmly and reduce making too much movements is a better way. You mustn't turn you back or stop eye contact as well. For cougars, it's a golden opportunity to strike because they think that you're not concentrating. Make yourself looks bigger is a good choice, too. Taking off your jacket and raising your arm slowly. Cougars often attack a small prey so it could help you not to become its suit prey. If you have a group of friends, stay together. It makes you look strong and united. But if you don't, try not to move too much to buy time. Whatever case you are in, the golden rule is stay calm and stay smart, think of a threatening plan if necessary. In case of worst scenario comes and a cougar attacks, fight back and aim for the face, especially its eyes. Use the knife or rocks as a weapon is a good option. Finally, I would like to share with you my survival kit. These are 7 things that I bring to help me with danger. For me, the most essential item is the knife because it is multi-purpose which one that is able to cook or cut down trees. Also, it could help me to protect myself when animals attack.
