Empathy, Dreams and Happiness in Life

Empathy, Dreams and Happiness in Life BglNX
Todd Stocker once wrote “Helping others is the secret sauce of a happy life. ” This is because every time one lends a hand to others, he or she earns a delight and make him or her live a peaceful life. Not only a few people will be benefited, but the whole society will be affected from this action. The motivation can be passed onto another person. As when one sees another person earns happiness from helping the society, he or she is likely to follow since he or she also wants to live joyfully. I have an experience of being motivated by someone else. I’ve once met a teacher who dedicated his time to bring the school into a better one despite being just a part-time teacher. He motivated me to work hard wherever I am or whatever duty I have, and taught me about society and how to be happy in my way. The school I was studying at had just introduced an English Program department 5 years prior. There were four part-time teachers hired. One was a friendly-looking biology teacher, Mr. Supreecha, who was loved by all students. I did not have a class with him yet, but he helped me do a math project when I had to participate in a contest. We built the structure and the design of the project and overtime I saw the efforts and contributions Mr. Supreecha put into helping me. Two years later, I had an opportunity to have a class with him for half of the semester. Not only him teaching very clearly, he also included many extra details. He gave quizzes that were similar to what the international test would be like, which I had never seen and was impressed with. It showed he constantly encouraged students to become better. Mr. Supreecha also planned and arranged the topics of biology class for students in all three levels even though he taught only one level. Aside from teaching in class, he dedicated his time to design the library and 2 laboratories. During the construction of those rooms, he also tracked the progress. The next year, I had a chance to work with Mr. Supreecha on a project once more, and it was the time I was motivated. I saw his generous side from when he made a brownie cake for every student in the English program. Moreover, he showed empathy since he would tell me about the garden in his backyard. Working and studying with him was more than fun since he would explain the work, give pieces of knowledge and guide how to live happily. I’ve heard from him that there is never too late to fulfill your goals. I was sad to know that Mr. Supreecha left the school months later. To stay optimistic, I thought I had learned so much from him. I sincerely respect him, and I suppose everyone does. In spite of him not being here, every time I step into the library or the laboratories, I always think of him considering that those rooms are what he left for the people he loves and supports. I consider Mr. Supreecha an important person more than just a teacher. He is a role model for many people to follow. Now I can look back to what he has done for people such as when he used his own time to view the construction of the rooms and take many lessons from what he has said to be a guide for my future. My point is, as an individual I can be positive, generous and have empathy instead of being pessimistic. Giving a hand to others while fulfilling my dreams is a moral obligation for me. It changes my life and community as it encourages others to do the same. I have my passion, and there’s no limitation or border able to block me from trying. I am looking forward to helping the society and have a peaceful life.
