Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing this email to apologize for not returning the books I took from your library on 20th August. I understand that there has been a delay of 2 weeks and as per the policy I cannot have the books for more than a week. I sincerely apologize and will make sure that this will never gets repeated in future. The reason I was unable to return the study material as I met with an accident and fractured my right leg. Due to this incident, I was admitted in the local hospital for 3 days. As I was under heavy medication, I completely missed the timelines and asking anyone else to own the task of returning the books to the library. One of friends will return the material within 2 days.
