Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing to request for a part-time job opportunity at your Taste of China Restaurant. I have some prior experience working at local restaurants and I hope you will consider my request favorably. Let me explain my situation. I am currently studying as a Freshman at University of Tennessee, Knoxville campus and I would like to pay part of my tuition expenses by taking up a part time job. I have been working in the food court during my high school as a server and cleaner and have worked at the local Subway during my holidays. I have noticed your posting for part-time helper in the university job portal and I am interested in applying for the position. Given my class schedule, I am only able to work during Tuesday and Thursdays from 5-9pm. I am available after 1pm on Friday and all day during the weekends. Given the location of your restaurant being only 10 minutes walking distance from my home, this will be an ideal opportunity for me to work part time and support my tuition expenses.
