I am writing this letter to express my apologies for the event I missed on October 20th about the first birthday. I am sincerely sorry for not being able to attend this event. I am aware of the importance of this function but, unfortunately, my absence was unavoidable. The reason for my absence was I had a car accident on the way to the event that day. Although, the accident was not serious, I was taken to hospital for a checkup and I was not allowed to leave until I had been given the all clear from a doctor.
