Hello John,
Hope you are doing great. I am writing this letter in response to a suggestion you asked for regarding, you were unable to meet the project submission deadline at your work.
I have read the letter in detail, as your mother is unwell and from last one week busy in hospital to help and support her in her difficult times. I understood your situation due to this you missed your deadline to submit the project.
I have experienced similar situation. last year, I was at my uncle's place for a holiday and uncertain weather conditions forced me to stay there for next three days then the planned dates. I submitted my project two days later after the due date of submission with an explanation to my manager.
I also advise you to write a letter to your manager and explain him about your mother's heath condition and request him to grant you next few more days to submit the project. Hope he will understand and allow you more time.
My best wishes are always with you and take care of your mother.
Best Regards,
Rakesh Sachdeva
