Hello John, Hope you are doing great. I am writing this letter in response to a suggestion you asked for regarding, you were unable to meet the project submission deadline at your work. I have read the letter in detail, as your mother is unwell and from last one week busy in hospital to help and support her in her difficult times. I understood your situation due to this you missed your deadline to submit the project. I have experienced similar situation. last year, I was at my uncle's place for a holiday and uncertain weather conditions forced me to stay there for next three days then the planned dates. I submitted my project two days later after the due date of submission with an explanation to my manager. I also advise you to write a letter to your manager and explain him about your mother's heath condition and request him to grant you next few more days to submit the project.
