whole grain and whole wheat

whole grain and whole wheat BwONa
The reading and the lecture says about whole grain and whole wheat. While the reading illustrates the advantages of whole grain and wheat and how it’s beneficial to the bodily functions and is full of nutrition, the lecture disagrees. First, the writing claims that whole wheat is rich of healthy oils and plant enzymes. It also possess Vitamin E which helps in immunity and Vitamin B which helps in maintaining cell health. It also contains Manganese which helps use vitamin and promotes cell repair. However, the lecture insists that whole grain is not healthy. The benefits which it provides to human body depend on the method of production. For instance, the whole wheat’s method of production is conventional and uses chemicals, this decreases its value, as the nutritional agents in the wheat gets destroyed. For example, the production of broccoli, tomato and wheat are highly affected. Next, the lecture asserts that the whole wheat reduces the spike in blood sugar level because of the fibers which helps in digestion. Fiber causes slow digestion and therefore maintains the sugar level. In contrast, the lecture argues that whole wheat doesn’t help in reducing sugar level and intake of this item is just as equivalent as having 2 pieces of bread. This is due to Amylopectin which increases digestion and thus increases sugar level. Finally, the reading claims that whole wheat reduces the inflammation because of polypeptides. On the other hand, the lecture points the fact that Gliadin the content it contains, makes the digestion weaker if the infection persists for a longer period of time. Hence, it doesn’t promote good health instead prolongs inflammation.
