I started out with English as a compulsory subject when I was 9. As with many other subjects, I just learned by heart the vocabulary and what my teachers said but It was not until 7th grade that I truly got a grasp of what English was. It was all thanks to an English song, so I guess my motivation in learning English belongs to the integrative motivation group. I feel attracted by the culture of English-speaking countries through its movies, music, festivals, etc. I want to know more about what I like, so I learn English in a very relaxing manner. And I believe that's what has helped me improve my language skills gradually since pressure and stress don't seem to work well on me.
In terms of demotivation, the vast ocean of vocabulary might be the biggest hurdle that I am afraid of and still not able to overcome while learning English.
