The picture illustrates the information of electrical production in a hydroelectric power station in a number of stages. The details of each process will be clarified in the following paragraphs.
As we can see, there are several steps, started from the usage of river and then going through the power station to provide power from day-time to night-time.
Initially, the water from a river will be contained in a high-level reservoir, which is connected with the dam that is open in the morning but close at night. While the dam is opening, the flow of running water will allow generating electricity. After that, the flow will transfer water into the generator at the power station by running pass reversible turbines, which not only be used to operate the generator in the daytime but also work as a water pumper to send water to a high-level reservoir at night as well. At the power station, the generator is linked with power lines, used for connecting with the national grid. Behind the station, there is a low-level reservoir, worked to collect water, that was running from the upper river.
