Statement of purpose I, Md Mobarok Hosen Omi Am Applying to the University of Kassel For admission to the Master’s Program in Electrical Engineering. In the following, I want to demonstrate my interests step-by-step and give you an impression of my fascination and devotion for the Master’s program. Motivation and Purpose. During my childhood, frequent load shedding used to make me infuriated as it interrupted me from watching my daily cartoon shows. One day, frustrated me asked my father I want to make a solution for this. In reply, he told, “you need to be an Electrical Engineer to solve it”. Though I could not grasp his answer at that age, the term Electrical Engineer stuck in my mind. My passion for this subject grew by the influence of my Physics teacher in high school who himself was an Electrical Engineer. He persuades me to be the one to provide the “solution” to my childhood problem. I attended many science competitions during my school years under his supervision, where I use to specially emphasize on circuits to build my projects. Slowly, I grew a passion for this field and wholeheartedly completed my BSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from North South University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. During my undergraduate, the courses related to Designing Electrical equipment, power generation& supply, And Electrical projects. It took me a while to grasp the new theories but I was completely amazed by learning why, how a circuit works. I believe, there is a still lot to learn before stepping into the professional world that is why I intend to pursue a Master’s in Electrical Engineering from the University of Kassel. Academic background My past under graduation courses is completely interconnected with the Master’s course that I intend to pursue. I have decent knowledge in Electrical circuit analysis & drawing, Digital & power electronics, signal processing, Electrical machine, power systems, and High voltage engineering, Also a considerable knowledge in coding including C Programming and MATLAB. I tried to reflect all the course understandings in my senior year project named “Renewable Power Generation System for Remote Areas with Net Metering Capabilities” where tried to come up with a product where Wind and solar power used to produce electricity also Can export the surplus to the national grid by net metering capabilities. Our project included the basic mechanisms of the electromagnetic process of Wind turbines, Solar panels also a vast part related to coding. This project demanded to learn different attributes of coding, research on taking the values of transistors, resistors. . These all elevate my knowledge in problem-solving and grasping new information and techniques in a short period of time. My internship at North South University Power Sub-Station gave me a whole new exposure to the real world. For instance, reporting any unusual situation to the supervisor, rectifying any problems within my instant knowledge. My Four-month experience at the university Sub-station had aligned my undergrad knowledge with the practical scenario. This experience made me realized, along with learning, hands-on experience is a must need to grow faster. I feel only a Master’s degree has the complete package of fulfilling my desire and help me to become a complete Electrical Engineer. Why Electrical Engineering in Germany? There is much compelling reason to pursue a Master’s degree in Electrical engineering but for me, it is the skill sets and experience that I will gather will elevate my future professional career. The Master of Engineering degree with the University of Kassel seems the perfect fit for me as it will burnish and enhance my achieved skills that will smoothen my journey for job fields. German Institutions never compromises with the quality education for engineer, whether the libraries or the labs all are above the standard level. Also, studying along with people of different cultures will allow me to withstand the variation and notion of different perspectives in job life. Overall, gaining advanced knowledge along with experience from a reputed university in a first-world country with multicultural people will surely escalate my present profile to a higher position that will help me to become a competitive contender in the job market. Why the university of Kassel? As I mentioned earlier, the Master of Electrical Engineering degree In the university of Kassel seems the perfect fit for me. The courses on Powers Systems Design, Electrical Advanced Protection, and Control that the University of Kassel offers match my specific domain of interest, while the course on power systems: Architecture, Design, and Analysis will allow me to explore a different part of the same field which I eagerly wish to experience. Besides, My Undergraduate thesis interests match perfectly with the course details with the Electrical engineering Masters program. I believe instructions from these faculty members and courses of my particular interest will take my knowledge to a different horizon. Conclusion I fully understand the kind of dedication, perseverance, and resolve a graduate program calls for; I believe that I have the ability and determination to tread on this exciting path.
