Landslides are a serious phenomenon in geology common to almost every province of Laos, because terrain majorly is hilly and mountainous. The flow of mass will be able to obstruct transport among towns, planning for land-use, including improvement in civil engineering of some construction and infrastructure. Previod, there were high risk landslides susceptibility in the north of the country, particularly the rainy season, which had an effect directly and indirectly on the sustainable livelihood and environment. An MSc Geo-engineering in Australia will consolidate my understanding of prior knowledge in landslide management, equip me with the research knowledge and physics skill sets in modeling for able cover movement of mass, which are required to address highlighted national hazard issues.
