Scholarship Study Plan Essay

My name is Evelyn Andrea Williana, and I am a student at Masa Depan Cerah Senior High School who is currently completing my studies in the eleventh grade. Since I was little, I have had a melancholic-phlegmatic character, which allows me to be analytical, perfectionist, and schedule-oriented. Due to my attentive temperament, I can achieve outstanding grades in school, resulting in obtaining a scholarship since middle school. Furthermore, while I was in sixth grade, I passed the Kumon lessons, a high-level mathematics tutoring program. I believe that the certificate will be helpful in the university admissions process. As a student, I desire to graduate with various achievements, both in terms of grades and in competitions. Besides academic learning, I am also fond of learning other languages, such as Mandarin and English. I am convinced that a multilingual person will have a higher chance of getting into the target university and having more work possibilities. My educational aspirations consist of acquiring a bachelor's degree in health science that would assist me in pursuing a medical career as a doctor, whether it is as an internist or a neurologist. I want to help people who suffer from diseases of the brain and internal organs. Most people who suffer from chronic brain illnesses tend to give up on their lives. Yet, I hope that I can be a motivation for them in their recovery process. Many people said that it would be demanding to achieve that dream, but I trust in myself that I can do it through hard work. The thought of making a difference in someone’s life is the one that keeps me dreaming and striving to become a professional doctor. As a visual learner, I find it easier to absorb information more effectively by looking at examples directly or with the help of media in the form of pictures, diagrams, charts, and videos. Moreover, I am a night owl who can focus better at night on tasks. Therefore, I have a night study schedule that includes working on papers and proofreading them from 8 p. m. to 1 a. m. I had the poor motivation to complete my studies at one point, which made it tough for me to concentrate. I was constantly concerned about failing and how other people saw me. Besides that, it is hard to create a conducive studying environment; I am easily distracted by my surroundings, for instance, social media, dramas, etc. However, I am certain that if I do not study diligently, I will never be able to attain my job objectives. Hence, I decided to eliminate those flaws by learning to think positively, creating a backup plan, and reorganizing my workspace. As my thoughts have a significant impact on what I do, I must be optimistic and focused on the process to be a successful person. It is fine if I fail now and then, as long as I do not give up on my goals and utilize a backup plan to consider how to pursue them in the future. Furthermore, I must maintain only the necessities on my desk to free up space for motivation and reduce the possibility of becoming sidetracked. Because of Australia's world-class healthcare system and innovative technologies, I intend to study there when I graduate from high school. I believe Australia is the finest place for me to learn since it shares my medical philosophy, which is doctors must give free healthcare to all citizens and permanent residents. As we all know, many unfortunate people are unable to obtain adequate medical care owing to their financial circumstances. However, in Australia, doctors have to treat patients equally without looking at their backgrounds, which is beneficial for those who are in pain. To be exact, I want to take the Biomedical Science major—learn the fields of biology and medicine—at Monash University, located in Melbourne, Australia, as they provide their students' unique medical programs and internships. By taking that major, I can continue to go to a medical school, which will prepare me to become a doctor. Moreover, biomedical science is the heart of medical breakthroughs in healthcare that study the human body and conduct medical research. Although becoming a specialist doctor takes a long time, I want to have the perseverance to study for about ten years.
