The COVID-19 pandemic is unfolding in a complicated way all around the world and also in Vietnam. These are difficult times for the advertising business. As a result of COVID-19, people have been obliged to limit their outdoor activities and have turned to the internet for entertainment and communication. It is true that Vietnamese people have been more engaged on social media since the outbreak (DataReportal, 2021). Also, the issue is having a detrimental effect on the activities and revenue of several agencies and businesses who have used traditional marketing for their campaign. Events, festivals, and paid partnership relationships have all been postponed or eventually cancelled. However, this is not the case with influencers which means that social media networks may provide even more opportunities for businesses as with influencer marketing being particularly relevant and beneficial for small businesses in maintaining customer relationships during the crisis.
