It is true that many people do not know how to read and write these days. While it is a serious problem, it can be solved by providing free teaching programs for both children and adults. The main cause of this problem is that many people who live in remote areas usually had to work instead of going to school when they were a child. Then when they grow up, they still have to work to earn a living and raise their family, so it is very hard for them to dedicate their time and money to go to school. Moreover, there are few educational facilities in rural areas, which minimizes the opportunities to go to the school of the inhabitants there.
