Statement of Purpose My name is Japneet Kaur, currently working as asystem engineer with Infosys ltd, I am 24 years old and hail from Ambala City, Haryana. Today, the world is dominated by technology. To keep upwith the pace of the rapidly changing world,  many companies orproduct developers tend to neglect or underestimate the value of thequality of the product being delivered. With this vast influx of data andshrinking timelines, it has become even more significant to predict risk, increasespeed and minimize wastage of resources thereby knowledge of quality system concepts is crucial. In order to advance for my objective, I look forward to learningthe necessary skills for the same.  The topic of Interest: The programoffers various courses teaching concepts of quality methodologies, projectmanagement, statistical approach to quality, etc. My area of expertise issoftware technologies and hence the course that interests me the most issoftware quality assurance which would teach me to optimize the performance of the software.  Educational and Professional Background: Aftercompletion of my senior school with science stream (i. e. with core subjects’physics, chemistry, and mathematics (science) in 2015, I decided to getexposure to the latest technologies in computers. I had an urge to maximize myacademic as well as practical knowledge, that is why I started my Bachelor ofTechnology (Computer Science and Engineering) and joined one of the finestInstitutions for technical education namely “Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute OfTechnology” (Affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh IndraprasthaUniversity), New Delhi. I completed my degree with first division in May2019.  In college, I did a minor project on the Analysis of supervisedlearning algorithms in the year 2018. My learning journey was not just limitedto college, I would also attend many workshops during my studies. Furthermore, I have done an internship as a front-end developer with a startup.  I managed toget a college placement in Infosys Limited and joined the company in October2019 and my job is continued. I am currently working as a System Engineerwith prime responsibilities being the development of software, unit testing, functional testing, compatibility testing, production support, requirementgathering, etc. My experience from my internship and the knowledge gained incollege turned out to be very helpful in my career. In my job, I participate inevery step of production from ideation to development and improvement offeatures. As a part ofthe project, I along with my team had managed to bring more business from theclient.  During myprojects, I realized how much impact does quality of service makes on a client. Today, the efficiency of software cannot simply be limited to ensuring thatthe software works but also ensuring that the application providesdifferentiated user experiences.  As my work included thedevelopment of websites, I also observed that despite the laws about webaccessibility, many websites that are functional at the timing are notdigitally accessible. This initiated my curiosity about learning more aboutquality system practices. I started reading about the quality system managementcycle, six sigma, etc. Due to my work commitments and dealing with clients inthe USA, my work timeline had to be adjusted which left me with very littletime for learning new concepts. Soon I realized that my efforts need a morealigned pathway.  I started searching for different options of educationin the same field in India and abroad and finalized Canada as the studies inCanada involve assignment work and seminars which aid in understanding theconcepts and also support the overall development of students.  Startingfrom the fact that Montreal is a student-friendly city, there are plenty ofother reasons to choose Concordia University. The major one would be the goodgraduate employability rankings and career planning support with careerplanning services and individualized development planning tools to supportprofessional development. Courses in Concordia have small classes which ensure better attentionto individuals. Concordia’s Graduate & Professional Skills programoffers workshops that help to enhance technical knowledge. Apart from that, events such as meet-ups, opportunities forvolunteering, social spaces to connect with like-minded people would aid inimproving my social skills, communication skills, teamwork, etc.  With thiscourse, I wish to achieve knowledge and technical skills for designing andanalyzing quality systems which would help me build my career as a qualityanalyst. The understanding gained from the course would also align with my goalto develop metrics that measure the accessibility of software fordifferently-able people.
