This situation occurs mainly due to the rising competition among students to get into better universities. Although this looks like an idea with many advantages, one can see an equal number of disadvantages too, of the same.
To begin with, the individual study will enable the students to get clarifications on complex content at any point during the lesson. Additionally, the teacher would be able to deliver the lecture at a pace that fits with the student, which cannot be done in a traditional school environment. Moreover, the students would get the personal attention of the teacher, based on their individual strengths and weaknesses. For example, It was revealed in a recent study conducted by The National College of France, the average annual score of students with individual support has increased by 33. 6%.
On the other hand, private tuition could be costly, as the teacher’s time has to be individually allocated to a single student, and they might charge a premium for that. Furthermore, students could be tired after a full day at school, and additional learning could be a huge burden. In particular, the time spent on the road would be a waste, and the productivity of the student could be quite low. For instance, research carried out by Kantar Org. in 2019 proved that children with hectic schedules have a higher risk of abandoning their academic career, pre-maturely.
