In the past, in most cultures, family life was much different than it is now. Women had to stay at home to do housework and take care of the family. Sometimes, there were women who went to work, however, they are weaker in physical strength than men, so they were paid less even for very hard work. Obviously, men were considered to be the sole breadwinner in the family. Today, the role of women is equal to that of men. Women can be more comfortable in their lives. They can go to work and go to school, without depending too much on their husbands.
