well, first of all, we have to study for 12 years of our lives at school. And some of our courses in high school include university courses in the USA. so, we have to study harder than others. Consequently, our students in high schools are more literate but as you know there is a university entrance exam in Iran that takes place once a year. If you pass that exam you will enter a university. Our country follows The British education system which is research-oriented.
