Despite its enormous human and natural resources, my home country Nigeria still faces significant food insecurity problems. Taking this into account and the fact that I am a trained science laboratory technologist, with a specialization in microbiology techniques, I've applied for postgraduate schools abroad to acquire requisite biotechnology skills and professional work experience.
Upon my return to Nigeria, I'll not only share the expertise I've gained during my postgraduate studies with research institutes, industries, government agencies like the National Biotechnology Development Agency among others I'll also collaborate with relevant stakeholders to embrace new modern methods of crop production.
But there seems to be a hurdle to my aspirations. Applying to graduate school consumes a lot of resources, from application fees, English language test fees to transcript processing. Given my modest financial situation (young graduate with no job apart from the volunteering work I do), I've struggled to afford the aforementioned and hence my interest in this Nigeria E-passport Funding. Without the passport, all my efforts will go to waste even if offered admission.
I hope my application will be considered as it will go a long way in assisting me to achieve my dream of studying abroad.
