My town, Isfahan, is known as an ancient city. It has a lot of historical monuments, which among them there is one of the most astonishing constructions I have ever seen. It’s a bridge named Si-o-se-pol. This bridge is the largest of eleven bridges on the Zayende-rood the largest river of the Iran plateau in Isfahan. This bridge was built in the near 17th century to serve as both a bridge and a dam. From past to now it has been a recreational gathering place and is one of the most famous examples of Iran’s Safavid kingdom’s architectures. It has a total length of about 300 meters and a total width of about 15 meters. Also, it is a vaulted arch bridge consisting of two superimposed rows of 33 arches, from whence its popular name comes.
