Recently, there has been a ton of debate as to Colonization. More specifically, in regards to the passages, the writer puts forth the idea that people should colonize Titan not Mars. In the listening passage, the lecturer is quick to point out there are some serious flaws In the writer`s claims. In fact, the professor believes it’s a bad idea to colonize Titan instead of Mars, and addresses, in detail, the trouble with each point made in the reading text.
First and foremost, the author of the reading states that there are more resources in Titan such as methane which can make progress. Some professionals in the same field, however, stand in firm opposition to this claim. In the listening, for example, the professor states that humans need water not methane which is more in Mars. He goes on to say that water is more important than methane so the fact that there is lakes of methane does not mean that Titan is better place to colonize.
One group of scholars, represented by the writer, thinks that lower gravity on Titan make the travel easier. Of course, though, not all experts in this field believe this is accurate. Again, the speaker specifically addresses this point when he states that low gravity cause illness to the heart and the body an that made it hard to stay in Titan longer.
Finally, the author wraps his argument by positing that the distance between the earth and titan is not a big deal. Not surprisingly, the lecturer takes issue with this claim by contending that the distance is more important than anything because the communication with earth will be hard if there is any problem such as the amount of supplies if there is a lake of food it will take forever to arrived from earth.
To sum up, both the writer and professor hold conflicting views about colonize Titan or mars. Its clear that they will have trouble finding common ground on this issue.
