In the middle of a conversation, we may encounter moments in which we are not comfortable in expressing our thoughts regarding a particular topic or have absolutely no clue on how to respond. During these instances we make use of the Avoidance Strategies by incorporating the topic shifting methods. If an individual brings out a subject matter, instead of elaborating and giving out their opinions, they choose to change the topic by steering the conversation towards another direction. This is the most common and natural method of reduction as you are still able to express your thoughts but just not through the initial topic given. For example, as one asks a question and we instead ask if we could use the bathroom, compliment their attire, or distract them with a praise or an interesting fact are all counted as moments on which we avoid the initial question. If we speak words to topics that may seem sensitive to us or is still puzzled at the time, it may lead to further quarrels, misunderstanding, and miscommunication that may completely block communication from one another,
