The expenses on rent, electric bills, and transport all increased, with $600 being the most the British have spent in during the past decade, which is a significant increase from just over $400 in 1990. Utility bills and transport had a gradual increase in expenditure of about $100 in past three decades, with the amount in 2010 reaching up to about $250 and slightly above $150 respectively. On the contrary, money spent on groceries and entertainment remained almost similar for all 3 years, with entertainment even showing a small decline from just over $100 to exactly $100. The variation in groceries expenditure was also slight with an increase of about $30 from just above $300.
