In the digital world, kids can found a variety of things that can engage them. So the main goal should be not to get rid of gadgets, but to replace child interest inside those devices with the same interest in the real world. For instance, board games could replace digital games. It will be better for socializing and developing strategic thinking. As a replacement to watching videos of strangers doing things, we can propose to do that by ourselves: to make a science experiment, to shot a short movie, to print fancy mechanisms on a 3D printer, to dance, etc. It will increase the chances to find innate talents and develop an interest in a particular hobby. Of course, parents have to take part in these activities. Moreover, they should be a role model. And only this way we can draw the attention of kids to activities we want them to do.
