The figure illustrates the way in which municipal waste turns into fertilizer and domestic water during the sewage treatment. It is clear that the whole process performs in 13 stages, which begins with the domestic refuse and ends at using local water.
In the first stage, domestic dump is produced in the toilet, bath and sink by the households. After that, it passes through sewers and is collected in a septic tank. Then it sorts into two parts: the sludge and the liquid effluent. In the next stage, while the solid waste is carried to a fertilizer production unit, the dirty water is disinfected using some bacteria. These bacteria break down remaining organisms in the waste water.
After that, part of the liquid effluent is released into natural water resource, while the remainder is transported into water treatment plant, where some excess water is pumped into the plant from reservoir in order to purify the water for domestic usage. At the next stage, the water which is prepared for the household purposes, is pumped into pipes and is carried to the houses to finally uses at residences.
