The diagram given illustrates the procedure of rainwater harvesting and how it is made safe for drinking in an Australian city. Generally, the water stored and processed from rain can be made available for drinking with the help of clarifying process along with treating and handling it with chemicals. Fisrt of all, rain water which falls on rooftop is collected by the duct which then keeps flowing down through pipe at the side of the house and ultimately reaches into the drain at the bottom. Each house collects the water in the same way and then passed along underground drain to the water purifier system. The task of water purifier is to remove all the impurities in it and make the water as clean as possible. As soos as the water passed is filtered, it gets sent to a storage tank through the help of the pipes to store all the purified water received. After this point, water then is transferred to a water treatment cistern where mainly water is made fit for water consumption, this is being done by processing the stored water with chemicals. Once the water is ready which is fit for sipping in is the time time when it is led back into the houses as required where people can use it for daily utilization.
