The graph on the left side shows the number of foreigners travelling to the UK and the number of Uk residents going abroad over a 20-year period from 1982 to 2002. The figures are given as millions of people. The graph on the right side indicates the average time that travellers spend on these trips and the figures are given in nights. By and large, there was a growth of trips for both Uk and foreign residents during these years. Nearly 60 millions out of 70 millions of British people were traveling by 2002. In contrast, foreigners barely increased by 10 million for the same year. On the other hand, if we look at the trends on the second graph, we can see that the average time length during the trips drops in this period. Both lines were quite equal until 1990.
