two line graphs, one of local australian students and the other of overseas students. each graph containing two line patterns of commencing students and total students commencing students. 3LBbl
The two line graphs illustrate the number of students, both local and abroad that have taken admissions in Australian universities in between the years 2001-2010. Overall, the total admissions of both abroad and local students has seen a constant rise over the years, however the new admissions that happen each academic year have increased linearly amongst overseas students but the pattern for local students has not been steady. Total students from abroad were in 20, 000 numbers in the year 2001 and have reached their highest number (80, 000) in the year 2010. Their new admission rates have also increased from around 18, 000 in 2001 to nearly 40, 000 in the year 2010. However, the natives of Australia taking new admissions for a given academic year were above 200000 between 2001 and 2002 but have seen a fall during the years 2003-2006 and then steadily increased again from 2007. Whereas, the total number of natives in the universities has seen a rise from 400000 in 2001 and then maintained a constant state of 600000 from 2007 to 2010.
