The graph compares the three different households in Canada within the period of 1984 until 2020. Overall, it can be seen that one person and lone parents are slightly increasing throughout the period while for one-family households, only no children is presenting an upward trend while the two others, dependent and non dependent are both declining at the end of the period. In details, one person and lone parent comprised the minority in which it started at only 6% and 4% respectively. Interestingly, it landed at the same rate in the last two cut off at 12% in years 2014 and 2020. On the other hand, one family households is composed of couples with no chidren, with dependent and non-dependent. Among these three, dependent children overpassed the total number of the two remaining households in which in 1984, 52% of this groups are dependent. Although in the next years, it declined gradually, still it has the most percentage wherein it reach the lowest rate of 36% at the end of the period. Similarly, non dependent is also declining but its peak is apparent in 2004 with only 11% of the population and hitting 9 % in 2020 as its lowest rate. Opposite to this is no children wherein it slowly climbs up from 19% in 1984 to 25 % in years 2014 and 2020.
