The two pie charts provide information on greenhouse gas emissions caused due to the consuming of energy in an ordinary Australian household.
When looking at the big picture, in general cooling made up the smallest part of the chart which
caused greenhouse gas emissions in the Australian household, while water heating was the highest use. In comparison, heating has more energy usage than other appliances which has contributed more towards greenhouse gas emissions unlike heating which was the lowest between the two.
Cooling was the lowest use of energy of 2% resulting in just 3% of greenhouse gas emissions, which is the least on energy usage and greenhouse gas emissions throughout the household. Emissions were doubled to 8% from a 4% of use of energy for lighting. Other than cooling and lighting adding to among those that used less amount of energy is refrigeration which was at 7%. But the contribution towards gas emissions has an increment of 14%.
Other appliances accounted for 15% of energy usage had caused upto 28% of greenhouse gas emissions that is almost close to the usage of energy for water heating of 30% causing 32% gas emissions while the highest use of energy recorded at a percentage of 42% heating producing the lowest amount of greenhouse gas emissions which is 15% in terms of usage.
