Overall, population in urban areas has increased noticeably in the given duration. Moreover, rural population has rose slightly over the given period. The population in urban areas has grown in Africa, North America, Asia and other parts of the world. Although the most amount of citizens living in urban areas is in Africa. According to the first graph, the urban population has shown an upward trend, from 500 million in the year 1950 to 6100 million by the year 2050. However, on the contrary, rural population has also upsurged but it has remained static between the years 1990 to 2030. In 1950 with around 500 million population to 3000 million in the year 2050 rural population has grown substantially with tiny dip in the year 2030.
