The charts give information on the numbers of inhabitants in different parts of the world in the years 1900 and 2000. The first pie chart shows the population in the year 1900 while the second pie chart depicts the population a century later.
Overall, Asia recorded the highest numbers in both years. In the year 2000, Middle East and North Africa were added to the study. Despite the introduction of these countries in the study, other countries remained to account for the lowest percentage.
In detail, Asia represented 59% out of the overall population of 1. 6 million in the year 1990. This was followed by Europe including Russia with less than half of that of the percentage accounted by Asia. North America and Africa had equal figures with 5%. The smallest proportion was documented by Latin America and others with only 3%.
After a century, Asia remained to record the highest numbers representing 54%. A significant decrease was seen in the figures recorded by Europe including Russia which had more than 10% decrease from its previous figures. Africa represented a tenth of the total population which was double its previous documented percentage. Latin America represented 8% while Middle East and North Africa had 6%. There were no changes in the population of North America and other countries which had 5% and 3% respectively.
