Overall, from 2010 to 2014 the American spend in food, smartphone and Toiletries showed an upward trend. The spending for food was the lion share in both years, while books was reversed.
In 2010, each household payed approximately 3750 $ for food, which was much higher than that of cloth(2500), smartphone (2000) and Toiletries (1900), and three times higher than spending for books, at a mere 1000.
