The two maps illustrate the progress which occurred in the seaside resort named Templeton over a 15-year period from 1990 to 2005. In 1990, Templeton was a much greener residential area with a large number of trees and individual houses, but during the next 15 years there were significant changes in the resort. As can be seen from the maps, the railway was stretched running along the coast. To the western side of the river, all trees and individual houses along the railway line were removed to make way for larger buildings and a supermarket. The trees around the lake were also cut down, replaced by three new building blocks. In addition, in 2005, several individual houses sprouted up on the space between two roads. To the eastern side, the woodland and houses along the coast were cleared, superseded by a factory. Besides, new houses were built in the area near the hospital, which remained from 1990. Another noticeable development is the airport next to the school. A ferry was also constructed at the mouth of the sea, in the southeast of the resort. Overall, a comparison of the two maps reveals a change from a largely rural to a mainly urban landscape.
