The given diagram shows the process of recycling used aluminium cans. Overall, it is clear that six main steps are shown, which starts at collecting used cans and ends at reusing as drink cans. In the initial step of the process, used cans are thrown into metal recycling bins and then collected by a specialised truck. Thereafter, they are transferred to a recycling plant and are cleaned, sorted to remove all things are not aluminium. After that, aluminium cans are shredded and put into a massive hydraulic press to compress so as to prepare for the following steps. Being heated subsequently at an appropriate temperature in a furnace, the pieces of cans are melted to form a liquid. Before turning back to the initial can’s shape, the aluminium liquid from the previous step is rolled to be from 2. 5 mm to 6 mm in thickness. Finally, recycled cans are ready to use for storing drinks, which accounts for approximately 74% in the UK.
