The two maps illustrate the development of Harrison’s Stables between 1920 and 2010.
A glance at the maps reveals that the area witnessed dramatic transformations, such as the complete disappearance of Field and the replacement of Main House by Car park. It is also notable that Stables expanded dramatically.
In 1920, Cottages located in the North of the map, was halfway between Main House and Bam. After 90 years, while Bam converted into office Block, the other 2 rest were replaced by Car park. Furthermore, a Train Line was constructed in the top-left hand corner of the map, next to Car Park. Additionally, the Stables was double in size, which took the largest space.
It is clear that Field, situated to the bottom right hand corner, completely disappeared. Moreover, there was a significant change to Fence and Riding Path. In 1920, they were constructed in a straight line, while in 2010, Fence was placed parallel to Riding Path and both of them opposite to Office Block.
