The two maps above illustrate how the town of the coastal village of Seaville changed over a 30 year period, from 1980 to 2010. Overall, there was considerable development of the settlement over these years, and it was gradually transformed from small town into a largely residential population area.
Over the period surveyed, only the hotel in the bast of Seaville remained unchanged. In response to the considerable increase in population the hospital were extended to around double the size of the East Bank. The sand Dunes and tea room in the south east of Seaville was demolished to make space for a new hotel and restaurant; whereas, the woodlands in the north west were cut down for a golf course.
In 1980, the holiday cottages that can be seen to the west of Seaville, no longer existed by 2010, having been replaced by Permanent houses. There also used to be an extensive property standing in area situated to the north west of Seaville. At some time, from 1980 to 2010, this was extended and converted into Retumentand Boat club. This was another significant transformation for the Seaville.
