Overall, while sales of bananas increased gradually in the UK, Switzerland, and Belgium, and decreased slightly in Sweden and Denmark, coffee sales showed a climb in all five countries. Looking at the tables in detail, the sales of coffee in the UK experienced a dramatic increase from 1. 5 to 200 million euros, whereas in Denmark, Sweden, and Belgium only there was a slight rise. In Switzerland, coffee sales in 2004 were double that of in 1999. The sales of bananas on the other hand, in Switzerland, made nearly a threefold jump from 15 to 47 in 1999 and 2004 respectively. While banana sales in the UK and Belgium climbed steeply, they fell slightly in Sweden and Denmark from 1. 8 to 1 and 2 to 0. 9 respectively.
