The tables below show people's reasons for giving up smoking and when they intend to give up wnrMl
Illustrated in the two diagrams are the motives of smokers to stop smoking, and the specific time they want to leave the smoking habit. By and large, the primary motivation for people to quit smoking is to improve their physical well-being, while the minority is because they are currently suffering from a health problem. The majority of smokers intend to quit smoking at some point in the future. According to the first table, merely over 64% of the smokers in all categories leave their habit because of having better health in general, followed by economic consideration at around 25% to 36%. The proportion of people giving up on smoking to have less risk of getting smoking-related illnesses is a-fourth. Lastly, the remaining reasons share just below 20% each. Moving to the second table, 60% of smokers who smoke 20 or more cigarettes per day intend to quit, compared to 10-19 cigarettes and less than 10 cigarettes per day (73% and 79% respectively). Just over a quarter of all group smokers plan to quit in the coming month, and around a quarter of them want to quit in the next few years.
