The table illustrates the information of management positions (managers, executives, and CEOs) held by women in four industries (Finance, IT, Manufacturing, and Hospitality) in the year 2006.
Overall, it is clear that hospitality accounted for the majority of all 3 management roles while manufacturing is in contrast. As for IT, it had quite high figures in both 3 positions.
Looking at the graph more closely, one can see that managers made up about one-third for hospitality, compared to each of the others accounted for just one-fifth, reaching around 20% in total. In terms of manufacturing, the numbers of women in all three sections were the less. Interestingly, the proportion of IT and Finance managers seemed to be the same, at merely around 16%. While the Finance had the percentage of other sections decreased, hit a low of around 4% in Executives and 2% in CEOs, IT had the same pattern to have the gap between these roles up to a double.
