Everybody uses taps everyday. The diagram below shows how a tap works. Write a description of the tap and how it is used to turn on and turn off the flow of water. lL1RX
The diagram illustrates how the waterflow in a tap is turned on and off. It presents the parts and how they function together in switching the faucet on and off. Overall, the tap handle is used to turn the faucet on and off. The handle is protruding from the main body while the rest of the parts are enclosed in an easy-to-clean cover. In detail, the tap handle is turned counterclockwise to turn the tap on. In turn, the spindle, a round tube just below the tap handle, turns in the same counterclockwise manner upwards. Just below the spindle are the spindle thread, jumper, and washer. The spindle thread encloses the jumper, which resembles an inverse letter T, and the washer is found below the jumper. Turning the faucet on lifts these parts away from the washer setting, allowing water to flow freely. To turn the tap off, the handle is turned clockwise. The spindle is also turned clockwise downwards. This pushes the spindle thread, jumper, and washer down towards the washer setting, blocking the flow of water.
