The table below shows the results of a 25-year study on the use of bicycles in Britain by age and gender. GO8j
The shown table gives information on changes in the length of distance undertaken by different groups of people per year. As a general trend, the number of miles travelled by the most groups of cyclists decreased significantly over the years. Considerable change can be observed in the young people group with about a two-times drop in distance. The only group with a slight rise in numbers is adult males (18-59) group. Now, turning to the details, there is no steady trend in collapsing length in most groups. For different people the amount of travelled by bike distance per year varied and increased from year to year. This applies to children of both genders, adult females and all 60+ group. It could be noticed that males tend to ride longer range than females in all age groups, except all 60+, where no data for genders is present. Young males are also the group with the biggest number of miles travelled per year in each year.
