With the modernization of society, the use of machines over manual effort has been increased significantly. People have become quite dependent on machines. Earlier, there were workers who used to work day and night for the completion of their work in factories. The items such as clothes and furniture were made manually by the workers in the past. But as the time passed, the workers are replaced by the machines. In this essay, we shall discuss about both the items; clothes and furniture and talk about the preference of one over another. Clothes are one of the basic necessity of humans. There are various types of clothes which are made by machines for example silk, cotton, hosiery. Interestingly, all these types of clothes can be made manually as well. In textile factories, the workers make these clothes by hands which takes quite a lot of time to make these clothes despite of making them with the help of machine. But their are some very beautiful and royal work which cannot be done by machine because few fabrics get damaged when come in contact of the needles used in machine. Also, there is a remarkable difference between the cost of clothes made by machine and manual. The later are comparatively cheap than the former. Furniture is also a basic requirement of people nowadays. Few pieces of furniture such as beds, sofas, dining tables, chairs are the unavoidable things which are required in the house. The most famous intricate wooden art used in furniture can be done by machines only because it requires carving in the wood with the help of a proper instrument. But, in the past furniture was created by manual efforts of the carpenters. They used to work day and night for creation of single piece of furniture and never got the desired compensation in return of their work. That's why, the interest of machine increased among people. I prefer machine made furniture and clothes because they are relatively cheaper than the hand made items. Also, hand made items are created by the workers which takes lot of efforts and hard work. That's why I don't think that their hard work should be wasted for the entertainment of people.
