The table depicts the percentage of Great Britain’s light and heavy smokers that is categorized in age group and gender Overall, it can be seen that the most common stage of life that the majority of the population smoking is 20-24, which outnumbers others in both genders. To begin, there is an increasing proliferation of smokers throughout the age. At 16-19 years old, the percentage of smokers among the general population is about one in four. Most light smokers are 20-34 years old, in particular about under one-third of the men and one-fourth of the women. In the meantime, the dominant age group in which heavy smokers occupying is the middle-age with about 12% for men and 9% for women. However, the trend is not true for the elderly because they might ignore the smoking habit with negligible figures compared to other categories, 15% out of the Great Britain population.
