The table depicts the figures of the population of various age groups in Britain in the years 2005, 2015 and also estimates the figures in 2025. Overall, as the years increase the population of all age groups increases and it is predicted to increase in the future except for the 0-14 and 15-24 age. In 2005, out of 54. 1 million of the population, 8. 9 million of the population was under 0-14 and 7. 6 million was under the age group of 15-24. The population of 0-14 and 15-24 in 2015 were 7. 4 million and 6. 5 million respectively. The population of the age group 0-14 and 15-24 is predicted to fall and reach around 8 million and 7 million respectively by 2025. In 2005, the population of age groups between 25-39 and 40-59 were almost similar. The figures were 10. 8 million and 10. 3 million respectively. After a decade, the population increased to 11. 5 million and 12. 6 million and it is predicted to increase more by 2025. In 2005, the population of 60-74 age groups was 5. 3 million. However, it increased by 3. 3 million in the year 2015 and it is expected to increase and reach 9. 1 million by the end of the period. The population of 75 and over were 4. 2 million and 5. 4 million in the year 2005 and 2015. The population is estimated to increase by the next decade however, will still remain the lowest population compared to all other age groups.
