This diagram depicts how plastic bottles are recycled. This process was done so that the amount of plastic trash could be reduced. This could at least mitigate the environmental damage caused by plastic bottles a little. This process has 9 steps. It all starts with people who wants to dispose their plastic bottles. There are a separate trash bin so that the recycling staffs will have a much easier time to sort it out from other trash. A truck which purpose is to transport the plastic bottles empties the bin on a schedule to take it to the recycling center. The recycling center is where the mechanical process takes place. The plastic bottles are being sorted first. Then they are flattened and compressed into blocks so that it is easier to crush into minuscule pieces. Next, the pieces are washed to ensure that they are clean before being shredded to even smaller shards. After this step the shards are heated so that they can melt into raw materials. These raw materials are then used to create final products such as clothes and lunch boxes.
