The Olympics Games began in Ancient Greece during the eighth century B. C. E. The Ancient Olympics were held to honour Zeus, the father of the gods. The Modern Olympic Games started in 1896, but one time it was cancelled due to the World War 2. Then they continued to held the Olympic Games every four years since 1992, alternating between the Summer Olympics and the Winter Olympics every two years. Many countries wanted to host the Olympic Games because it is an International events that will be attended by a lot of foreigners around the world, so the host will get a chance to introduce their culture to the other foreigners and these foreigners might be interested and will coming back to this country as a tourism.
