The marriage percent of the couple in America are significantly dropped within three decades fr 1970 to 2000. As we can see in the chart, the divorce rates were a bit go higher in 1980. Then it slightly drop down in next two decades. According to chart, there were 70 percent of people are married. The marital status of married people go down less than 10 percent in 2000. Almost 15 percent of adults never married in 1970. Furthermore, the percentage of adults were windowed and just about 3 percent of adults were divorced. To sum up, about 6 percent of adults were divorced in 2000.
