The maps show a beachfront in Australia in 1950 and today. mGXO
The two maps illustrate the innovation of a beach landscape in Australia between 1950 and the present. From a general perspective, these maps indicate several visible changes. These alternations of the beach landscape in 1950 to the present occur in the following features: the playground next to the dining tables in the north, the size of the pool in front of the beach, and the length of the highway connecting from the city to the beach. First, the pool in front of the beach is built from 25 meters to 50 meters in the south, while the emergence of the car park on the left side of the dining tables forced the playground to be demolished. In addition, the length of a highway connected from the city to the car park next to the pavilion in the north was extended to the lighthouse to the south. Furthermore, the construction of two surf clubs is established on both sides of the beach, one is next to the lighthouse and another one near to the 50-meter pool. In addition, the restaurant emerges in the blank estate next to the surf club in the west, whilst other facilities such as dining tables, pavilion and car park in the north are remained untouched.
