The maps compare two different styles of office design in Japan and America. The key difference between the two kinds of working space is that the Japanese provide an open space for employees, while the American set up a private one for their staff. Additionally, the Japanese office is simpler than the American layout which is utilized for many other functions in the same area. To begin with leadership team, a big desk for department manager in Japan is placed in the top of the room, against the only main window where manager could observe the whole room. By contrast, American boss has their own biggest room in the right area of the office. Besides, the section managers in Japan would sit in front of department manager which is connected to their team’s area, whereas two American section managers’ positions are installed in small rooms next to the department manager. The office desks and chairs in Japan are arranged ajacently including two oposite series for each cross-function team. In America, there are two lines of private tables with partition wall and all of them are toward the top of the room in the center area. Moreover, the American build more function sites such as printer copier, strorage, two conference rooms orderly in the left of the office next to the second large window.
